Pressure mounting on Congress to increase H-2B visas — Tell your Members of Congress to oppose! #WakeUpAmerica #Trump
April 3, 2017
Once again, House and Senate Appropriators are under pressure to exempt returning workers from the annual H-2B visa caps, which would potentially increase the number of visas issued each year from 66,000 to 264,000.
The H-2B visa is a low-skilled, guest worker program used by employers to fill temporary or seasonal jobs. These visas are mostly used to fill jobs in landscaping, food service, and hospitality — the very jobs that low-skilled American workers depend on to help make ends meet.
At the end of last year, Congress passed a continuing resolution to fund the federal government through April 28. Congress must pass a spending bill by the end of this month to avoid a government shutdown.
Please send a message to your three Members of Congress urging them not to exempt returning H-2B workers from the annual caps.
